Sight for navigation and colour vision
As discussed earlier in previous sections, bees have two compound eyes, along with ommatidia, which together contribute to bees colour vision. Srinivasan (2010) explains the bees are able to view light at shorter wavelengths than humans, giving them the ability to see ultraviolet markers on some flowers directing bees toward the nectar (Fig. 4).
